"This is a well deserved honor for Victoria, she has done so much for this program – as a player and as a part of the coaching staff – and to see her be recognized for all of her hard work is awesome," head coach Frank Polito said. "She was a tremendous asset to the team this year, helping us achieve our goals that we set at the beginning of the season and so much more. We are definitely lucky to have Victoria as part of the Viking family and I'm proud of everything that she has helped us accomplish throughout her time at Cleveland State."

During the 2018-19 campaign, Bensimon helped guide the Vikings to a share of the Horizon League Regular Season title and a spot in the #HLWTEN Tournament Championship match, leading Cleveland State back to the top of the Horizon League.

Throughout the season, Bensimon helped the Vikings to a 16-9 overall record, marking the highest win total for the Vikings in the last seven years. Cleveland State also posted an 8-1 record in regular season league matches, tying the program record for league wins in a single season and earning the Vikings a share of the top spot in the #HLWTEN standings.

With Bensimon's help, the Vikings appeared in the Horizon League Tournament Championship match for the fourth time in program history this season, making it back to finals for the first time since 2014.

Cleveland State's share of the 2019 Regular Season crown marked the fourth in program history, with Bensimon serving as an integral part in all four titles. As a four-year letterwinner from 2013-17, Bensimon was a standout on the 2014, 2016 and 2017 Viking teams that also captured regular season championships, as she finished her Cleveland State career ranked in the top-10 in singles and doubles wins.
