Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Action At West Virginia Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team wrapped up action at the Martha Thorn Mountaineer Invitational Sunday, with Kateryna Avram picking up her second singles win of the weekend.

"Overall this was a good tournament for us, we were able to improve on a lot of things in both singles and doubles play that we will continue to work on throughout the fall," head coach Frank Polito said. "I thought we competed really well today, we just came up a bit short in some of the matches. We have made huge strides since our first tournament of the fall, and we will look to continue that improvement at the WMU Super Challenge – the last tournament of the fall."

Avram's win came as a 7-5, 6-4 decision against Delaware's Emily Gotkiewicz, marking her team-leading fifth singles win of the fall.

Cleveland State's final tournament of the fall season will be the WMU Super Challenge, which will take place Friday, November 2 through Sunday, November 4.
