Cleveland State In The Horizon League Tournament
The Vikings will be trying for their first Horizon League Tournament title this weekend, and will be playing as a top-three seed for the eighth time over the last 16 seasons. Under head coach Brian Etzkin, the Vikings have appeared in the semifinals 11 times, and have advanced to the championship match three times (2011, 2012, 2014).

…Vikings As The No. 3 Seed
This marks the third time that Cleveland State will be playing as the No. 3 seed in the Horizon League Tournament, also doing so during the 2013 and 2015 seasons. The Vikings advanced to the semifinals during both of those years playing as the No. 3 seed, including the last time the #HLWTEN Tournament was held in West Lafayette during the 2015 campaign.

Last Time Out…
The Vikings split their matches at IUPUI (W, 5-2) and UIC (L, 7-0) to close out regular season play, finishing their #HLWTEN slate with a 7-2 record against league opponents. Last Sunday's loss against the Flames snapped a five-match winstreak for the Vikings, as Cleveland State enters tournament play having won five of their last six matches.

Spindler Trying For 20-Win Season
As Cleveland State's top singles player this season, Isabella Spindler enters the #HLWTEN Tournament with a team-best 19-13 overall record and is trying for the first 20-win campaign of her career. Spindler, who has won eight of her last 10 matches, owns a team-best 13-9 record this spring, including a 7-2 mark against league opponents at No. 1 singles.

Golawska On CSU Singles Wins List
Entering tournament play, senior Aleksandra Golawska is tied for eighth on the CSU Singles Wins List, currently owning 69 career victories. Golawska, who has a 17-14 overall record this season, is one of just nine Vikings all-time to eclipse 65 career victories and is just one win shy of becoming the eighth Viking all-time to reach the 70-win milestone.

…And On CSU Doubles Wins List
Aleksandra Golawska also finished regular season play ranked in the top-10 on the Individual Doubles Wins List, as she is tied for seventh with 60 career doubles wins. Golawska and teammate Isabella Spindler are also tied for second on the Team Doubles Wins List with 38 career wins as a tandem – one of just three doubles teams all-time with 30+ victories. This season, Golawska and Spindler have a team-best 16-6 record, with the 16 wins tied for eighth on the CSU Single-Season Wins List.

Schober Closing In On 50 Career Singles Wins
Following a 6-3, 6-2 victory against IUPUI at No. 4 singles last time out, Jana Schober continues to climb closer to the 50-win mark for her career, entering the Horizon League Tournament with 47 career victories. Schober, who owns a 15-12 record this year, would become the 15th Viking all-time to achieve the feat and the second current Viking to join the 50-win club (Aleksandra Golawska).

#HLWTEN Weekly Honors
Throughout the season the Vikings have been honored by the Horizon League multiple times, picking up four Singles Player of the Week honors and three Doubles Team of the Week accolades. As the all-time winningest coach in program history, Etzkin is one of the longest tenured coaches in the Horizon League, and is one of just two coaches to record 200+ wins at their current school.
