CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team split its matches in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion Friday, picking up its first win of the Spring Season with a 6-1 victory over Oberlin after falling to Tennessee, 4-0.

Everyone played really well in both doubles and singles and the entire team came out ready to compete. · 2018 Record: 1-6
· Friday afternoon's win against Oberlin marked Cleveland State's first dual match victory of the Spring Season.
· The Vikings now own a perfect 3-0 record against Oberlin, and stand at 17-5 all-time when playing in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
· Aleksandra Golawska picked up her first win of the Spring Season, and moved into the top-10 on the CSU Singles Wins List.
· For the fifth straight match the Vikings were playing with a shorthanded lineup due to injuries.
Head Coach Brian Etzkin
· Friday's victory over Oberlin marked the 200th career victory for head coach Brian Etzkin, who is the all-time winningest coach in program history.

From the student-athletes on the court, to the assistants that have been by my side along the way, it's definitely an honor that everyone can share. Every win is special in its own way, and thanks to assistants like Frank Polito, Jay Tee and Dave Howell – among others – we have been able to enjoy quite a few wins at Cleveland State. The Points
· The Vikings picked up the doubles point for the second time this season, earning a 6-0 victory at the top of the lineup from Isabella Spindler and Aleksandra Golawska and a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles from Gaby Schoenberg and Blanche Lenoan. With their win at No. 1 doubles, Spindler and Golawska picked up their 30th win as a doubles team – just the fourth Viking tandem to reach the milestone.
· Gaby Schoenberg picked up her team-leading fifth singles win of the spring season at No. 2 singles, earning a 6-0, 6-1 victory to improve to 5-1 this spring. Schoenberg now owns a team-best 10-6 singles record on the year.
· Aleksandra Golawska picked up her first singles win during dual match play against Oberlin, earning a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles. Golawska is now tied for 10th on the CSU Singles Wins List with 59 career victories.
· Isabella Spindler posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the top of the lineup for the Vikings, notching her second singles win this spring. For the season, Spindler owns an 8-8 singles record.
· Blanche Lenoan and Anastasia Perin picked up the final two singles points of the match, Lenoan with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and Perin with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 spot.
