DAYTON, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team hit the road for the first time during the 2018 Spring Season Friday afternoon, dropping a 5-2 contest at Dayton.

From The Sidelines
"This was another tough match for us – made even more difficult because we were playing with just five players – but we put up a good fight and battled until the very end. Our top doubles team was playing some good tennis, and I wish they would have been able to play out their match. We also had two great singles wins from Isabella and Gaby to put two points on the board for us. This will be a tough weekend for us, so we just need to move forward to the next match and continue our improvement." – Associate Head Coach Frank Polito

· Cleveland State was playing with a shorthanded lineup, using just five players for the match.
· Gaby Schoenberg kept her singles record perfect this spring, improving to 3-0.
· Friday's match marked the first match of a three-match roadswing for the Vikings this weekend.

The Points
· Gaby Schoenberg picked up her third straight singles point Friday afternoon, earning a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles after moving up in the lineup with the injury to Jana Schober. Schoenberg is now 8-5 overall this season and 3-0 on the spring.
· Isabella Spindler picked up her first singles win of the spring season against the Flyers, posting a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (6) win at the top of the lineup. Spindler is 1-2 on the spring, and 7-6 on the year.

· Cleveland State will continue its busy weekend at Indiana tomorrow (Saturday, February 3), traveling to Indiana for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
