The Cleveland State women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Youngstown, Ohio for a dual meet with Youngstown State and Niagara on Nov. 7. The women split the dual, knocking off Niagara 149-92 and dropping 140-93 to Youngstown State. The Vikings won three events on the night and set a new school record.

Kacey Cummings had an outstanding night, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives for the Vikings. She took the 1-meter event with a score of 217.30 and her score of 240.00 won the 3-meter competition. CSU's other win came in the 400 free relay when Carys Behn, Emily Splain, Kristina Bunker and Maria Culjak swam a 3:42.05.

"This was a very good meet for our women because they got a chance to see how they're progressing and where we're at with our training," head coach Wally Morton said. "Our swimmers are continuing to progress and will continue to get better as the season goes along. We had some very good things happen tonight that we can build on.

Behn continued her impressive season with a new school record time of 5:04.53 in the 500 free. Behn's time bettered the CSU mark of 5:05.93 set by Jen Henshaw in 1999. She also finished second in the 1,000 free (10:43.24).

Splain finished second in the 200 free, recording a life-time best of 1:57.30 while Rachel Arazadon recorded a lifetime best with her second-place finish in the 200 breast (2:30.13). Arzadon's time is also the team's fastest this season.

Culjak finished second in the 200 back (2:15.72) and touched for third in the 50 free (25.56). Katie Bellew took second in the 200 fly (2:16.32).

The women return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 11 when they host the City College Championships. The diving competition is set to begin at 3 p.m. with swimming events kicking off at 5 p.m. from the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium.
