CLEVELAND, Ohio - Junior Molly McNamara of the Cleveland State University women's swimming & diving team earned a pair of weekly accolades as announced Tuesday.

McNamara was named Horizon League Women's Swimmer of the Week by both the League office and CollegeSwimming.

In each of the past three weeks that CSU has competed, McNamara has earned weekly plaudits from the League. She now owns six weekly HL honors in her career.

It is her second honor of the season from CollegeSwimming with her previous one coming Oct. 24.

McNamara broke school and Horizon League records and surpassed two NCAA 'B' cut times on a weekend full of notable performances at the Magnus Cup. She was a big reason why Cleveland State posted 908 points at the meet, its highest such figure since 2013 (that 2013 meet had seven women's teams, whereas last weekend's meet had 15 teams).

McNamara saved her best for the last individual event of the meet, as she broke school and League records in winning the 200 butterfly in 1:58.65, nearly a full second under the NCAA 'B' standard. Her time is more than six seconds faster than any other League athlete this season. McNamara also achieved a 'B' cut in the 100 fly, as she stopped the clock in 54.45 seconds, lowering her League-best time in the event this season.

In a third individual event of the weekend, McNamara finished the 200 IM in 2:03.42, which gave her the second-fastest time in the League this year in that event. She also swam in the 100 backstroke preliminaries, before scratching out of the finals, and posted the eighth-fastest time in the League this year (57.38).

However, McNamara's success this past weekend was not just on the individual side. She also helped CSU's 200 and 400 medley relays post the fastest times in the Horizon League this year in those events, as both Cleveland State relays finished among the top three in fields of over 35 teams. The CSU 400 medley relay was just .12 seconds off the school record.

McNamara has earned weekly honors from the League three times this season. No other school has earned the women's swimmer of the week accolade more than once.

Cleveland State will resume action Dec. 9 with a dual meet at Ashland.
