The Vikings to Host Senior Day in Their Final Home Meet

THIS WEEK: 

The Cleveland State men and women's swimming and diving team will host Xavier and Oakland for their final home meet of the season Saturday (Jan. 31).  Events will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Busbey Natatorium. 

Senior Day festivities will take place before the meet at 12:50 p.m. Seniors Nathan Grant, Erin Bender, Elizabeth Tamas, Hayley Smith, and Rachel Grove will be recognized for their outstanding efforts throughout their years at Cleveland State. Senior and Student-Assistant Tom Blankenship will also be recognized.

The Vikings will move on to visit UIC on Saturday (Feb. 6) with events beginning at 5 p.m.

REVIEWING LAST MEET:  

The Cleveland State men and women's swimming and diving team swam against Wright State on Saturday afternoon.

Despite their effort, the Viking men and women both fell to Wright State. The men lost 205-95 , while the women fell 179-115.

For the men, Philipp Sikatzki won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.21. Danny Robertswon the 1-meter diving in dominating fashion with a total score of 317.02. Roberts also won the 3-meter diving with another impressive score of 324.59.

The Viking women put in great effort as Jodi Turk won the 1,000-yard free with a final time of 10:54.77. Bethany Robertson finished just behind with a time of 11:09.57. Robertson went on to win the 500-yard free with a time of 5:22.11. 

Despite the men's 205-95 loss and women's 179-115 loss, the Vikings showed promise in the pool.
