THIS WEEK: The Cleveland State men and women's swimming and diving team will be in action this week, visiting Wright State Saturday (Jan. 24) at the Student Union Pool. Events will begin at 1:00 p.m. 

REVIEWING LAST MEET:  The men and women had outstanding days as they both defeated Gannon. The men won 176-108, while the women won 159-117. 

For the men, Danny Roberts and Rhys Robbins started off the day with the 3-meter diving event. Roberts score was 319.88 and Robbins finished with 196.05. Roberts (350.47) and Robbins (200.62) also competed in the 1-meter diving event. The men's 200-yard medley relay team started off the swimmers day with a first place time of 1:36.57.  Nathan Grant placed first in the 200 yard-freestyle with a time of 1:44.81 in a close race. Jonathon LaValle won the 100-yard backstroke with a finishing time of 53.23 and the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:56.52. Adam Ingledew finished in a close second with a time of 54.71. Philipp Sikatzki (59.49) and Gage Alleman (59.61) had a 1-2 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Sikatzki also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.04. Robert Tolson finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.64. Ingledew placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.24.  The men finished off the day with a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.21.

The Viking women also had an outstanding day. Sammie Sposet started off the day with a 3-meter personal record 290.62. Sammie finished the 1-meter diving with a score of 256.72. Alexandra McConnell won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:00.01. Tara Vermandere was in a close second with a time of 11:06.34. Meghan Miller placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.74) and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:17.76.  Jamie VanDewerker won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.32.  Hayley Smith won a close 200-yard butterfly race with a time of 2:17.40.  Jodi Turk won the 200-yard backstroke event with a time of 2:12.21 and the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:41.70. Kayley Chevalier placed first in the 200 yard-breaststroke with a final time of 2:31.19.
