CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State softball team is set to open the 2001 schedule Mar. 2-4 at the Dayton Tournament. In 2000, the Vikings finished with a 19-37 overall mark and 4-6 record in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference.
CSU's opens its home slate on Mar. 28 against in-state rival Bowling Green and will play a total of 10 home dates. The Vikings will also host four MCC rivals -- Detroit, Loyola Chicago, Illinois-Chicago and UW-Green Bay.
CSU returns the services of junior outfielder Tiffany Stocker (Sherrodsville, Ohio/Conotton Valley) and sophomore catcher Stephanie Taylor (Wintersville, Ohio/Indian Creek) both of which were second team All-MCC performers last season.
