Cleveland State Softball Game With Wright State Cancelled Sunday

March 30, 2003

CLEVELAND - Sunday's softball game between Cleveland State and Wright State, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., has been cancelled due to weather conditions. With the temperature hovering just below freezing and a wind chill factor of 23 degrees Fahrenheit, the game was called at 12:15 p.m. Under Horizon League policy, no make-up will be scheduled.

On Saturday, the teams split a doubleheader. The Raiders took Game 1, 11-10 in 18 innings, while the Vikings won Game 2, 1-0. Although not close to the NCAA record for innings played, the 18 innings marked a school record for CSU. The previous mark was 16 innings, played on May 3, 1997 against Illinois-Chicago in the league tournament semi-finals in Detroit.

After a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 1 at Canisius, the Vikings return home on Thursday, April 3 for a non-league doubleheader with Niagara at 3 p.m. at Viking Field.
