Cleveland State Softball Drops Series Opener to Robert Morris

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State softball team dropped its series opener to Robert Morris 6-0 on Friday afternoon at Viking Field. 

RMU got off to a fast start with Avery Winchell hitting a two-run home run in the first inning to give the Colonials a 2-0 lead. 

Winchell drove in another run with an RBI single in the third and RMU added three more in the fifth to lead 6-0. 

The Vikings struggled offensively throughout the game, finishing with three hits, with Becky Hurosky's double in the fourth being the lone extra-base hit.

The two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow to close out the series. The first game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. EST first pitch. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for a senior day recognition in honor of senior pitcher Taylor Betz.
