Cleveland State Softball Falls to Presbyterian at ECU Jolly Roger Invitational

Greenville, NC-The Cleveland State softball team dropped a 13-2 decision to Presbyterian in five innings in the middle game of a five-game weekend at the East Carolina Jolly Roger Invitational. 

Brooke Albaugh finished 2-3 on the day with one of her hits going for extra bases. Albaugh also scored a run for the Vikings in the bottom of the fourth inning. 

Presbyterian got off to a fast start scoring three runs in the first inning. The Blue Hose added two more in the third and another in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead. Cleveland State responded with a run in the fourth with Albaugh scoring on a fielding error. 

Presbyterian broke the game open with seven runs in the top of the fifth. Cleveland State added a run in the bottom of the fifth on Albaugh's RBI double which scored Jenna Deang, but the Vikings could not push any more runs across to keep the game going. 

Cleveland State returns to the diamond tomorrow for the final two games of the weekend. The Vikings will face Ohio State at 9:30 a.m. and then will see a rematch with Presbyterian at 11:30 a.m. to close out the weekend.
