Cleveland State Softball Heads to Birmingham for Green and Gold Classic

Birmingham, AL-The Cleveland State softball team heads south to Alabama for its second regular season tournament of the season. The Vikings will take part in the Green and Gold Classic hosted by the University of Alabama-Birmingham. 

Cleveland State will play five games this weekend against host UAB, Louisiana Monroe and Butler. The Vikings will start with ULM and UAB on Friday, and then play two games again on Saturday and one on Sunday. 

Cleveland State finished 1-4 in the season-opening JU/UNF Invitational last week in Florida. CSU lost its first four but picked up a win in the final game to carry momentum into this week's action. 

Jenna Deang leads the way for Cleveland State. Deang hit .313 in the opening weekend, finishing 5-16 at the plate. She added an RBI and her five hits were the most on the team for the weekend.
