
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State pounded out 10 hits in the opener and Jordan Humitz hit a three-run home run in game two, but the Vikings dropped a pair of games to Horizon League leading UIC on Tuesday afternoon at Viking Field.
The Flames won the opener, 9-4, and won the nightcap, 12-3, in six innings.
Mel Woodard went 3-for-3 with a run in game one, while Mackenzie Joecken had a two-run double. Paige Hartley and Olivia Jones also had runs batted in.
Senior Kristin Catalano entered the game in the fourth inning, marking her 71st career relief appearance and seeing a CSU career record.
Humitz provided the Vikings with their offense in the nightcap with a three-run homer in the first inning.
The Vikings close the season with a three-game series at Wright State this weekend, playing one game on Friday and two on Saturday.
