Kaisk Named Horizon League Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State sophomore Macy Kaisk (Barberton, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week for the first week of the season after helping the Vikings win three of five games at the season opening CSU Dome Tournament over the weekend.

Kaisk hit .538 (7-13) with three runs, two doubles, two homers and six RBI at the tournament, recording multiple hits in all four games she played.

After sitting out the season opener vs. Niagara on Friday afternoon, Kaisk went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in a setback to Bowling Green on Friday night.

In two games on Saturday - both CSU wins - Kaisk combined to go 4-for-8 at the plate with a homer and three runs batted in as the Vikings defeated Robert Morris and Canisius. In Sunday's tournament finale, Kaisk went 1-for-2 with a first inning double and came around to score on Riley Ries' two-run homer as the Vikings topped Canisius, 2-1.

Kaisk and the Vikings are back in action for four games at the NC A&T Tournament this weekend (Feb. 16-18). CSU plays Maryland-Eastern Shore (9:30 am) and Howard (12:00 pm) on Friday before closing the tournament with a 12:00 pm game against NC A&T on Saturday and a 9:30 am contest vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore on Sunday.
