CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State junior Mackenzie Joecken (Osceola, Ind.) has been honored as the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week for her performance in Sunday's victory over Green Bay.
Joecken pitched the Vikings to a 1-0 win over the Phoenix in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader at Viking Field. She limited Green Bay to seven hits and stuck out seven, including the final two batters of the game in the season finale.
In addition, Joecken helped her own cause at the plate, hitting a solo homer in the fourth innings for the only run of the game.
Joecken also hit a solo homer in Sunday's opening game, helping the Vikings to an 8-7 win. She finished the doubleheader 3-for-6 at the plate with two runs and three RBI.
