Vikings Fall in Series Finale at Northern Kentucky, 4-2

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Melissa Jacobsen went 3-for-4 with a run and RBI, but Cleveland State dropped the series finale at Northern Kentucky, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon.

CSU took two out of three in the series with yesterday's doubleheader sweep.

Hanna Breeden went 2-for-3 today, while Riley Ries had a hit and drove in a run and Aubrie Tone scored a run.

NKU took a 1-0 lead with a run in the first, but the Vikings came back to knot the game at 1-1 in the third as Jacobsen's single drove in Tone.

However, the Norse scored four runs in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.

Jacobsen led off the sixth with a single and came around to score on Ries' RBI single to slice the lead to 4-2. CSU put runners on first and second with two outs in the seventh, but were unable to push the tying runs across.

Breeden worked the final 2 1/3 innings in the circle, giving up just one hit with two strikeouts.

CSU is back in action on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 25-26) when the Vikings host Detroit Mercy for a three-game series at Viking Field. Tuesday's game is schedule for 3:00 pm with a doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday at 12:00 pm.
