Vikings Fall to Penn State in Final Game of Coastal Carolina Tournament

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Cleveland State concluded play at the Coastal Carolina Tournament with a 9-0 setback to Penn State on Sunday morning.

Sofia Johantgen, Mel Woodard, Riley Ries, Hanna Breeden and Aubrie Tone all had one hit for the Vikings, while Breeden also reached base with a walk.

The Nittany Lions took a 3-0 lead with a run in the second and two more in the third and broke the game open with six runs in the fourth inning.

The Vikings (1-12) return to action next weekend (March 3-4) with four games at the Winthrop Invitational, playing DePaul and host Winthrop each day.
