CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State softball team continues its early season tournament slate with five games at the Coastal Carolina Tournament this weekend.

The Vikings will open the tournament with two games on Friday (Feb. 24), playing Campbell at 10:00 am and host Coastal Carolina at 5:30 pm.

On Saturday (Feb. 25), CSU will face Morehead State at 9:00 am and Coastal Carolina at 11:30 am before concluding the tournament on Sunday (Feb. 26) with a 9:00 am contest against Penn State.

The Vikings are 1-7 on the young season and dropped all four games at the ECU Pirate Clash last weekend, including a 2-1 setback to Bryant in CSU's first game. The Vikings out-hit Bryant, 8-5, in the game, but left eight runners on base.

Joecken's win was an eight inning complete game 5-4 victory over Canisius in the CSU Dome Tournament on Feb. 12.

Marissa Marcelli is tied with Johantgen for the team lead with five hits and also had a run, a double and an RBI, while Mel Woodard has a team-high four RBI.

Alicia Major has CSU's lone home run this year and has also worked eight innings in the circle. She has posted a 3.50 ERA with four strikeouts in five appearances, including two starts.

Following the CCU Tournament, the Vikings are back in action for four games at the Winthrop Tournament next weekend (March 3-4), playing DePaul and Winthrop each day.
