Vikings Drop Final Two Games of ECU Pirate Clash

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Cleveland State softball team concluded play at the ECU Pirate Clash on Sunday, dropping games to St. Francis (Pa.) and host East Carolina.

The Vikings fell to St. Francis (Pa.), 9-0 in six innings, before falling to ECU, 7-0.

Melissa Jacobsen and Bailee Gray both had hits in the setback to ECU, while Hannah Breeden worked one scoreless inning.

The Vikings were limited to one baserunner against SFU as Macy Kaisk reached via an error to lead off the sixth inning.

CSU is back in action next weekend for five games at the Coastal Carolina Tournament which runs from Friday through Sunday (Feb. 24-26).

The Vikings open play in the tournament on Friday against Campbell at 10:00 am and will play host CCU at 5:30 pm. On Saturday, CSU faces Morehead State at 9:00 am and Coastal Carolina at 11:30 am before concluding play in the event on Sunday vs. Penn State at 9:00 am.
