CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior Erica McNew (Canton, Ohio) has been named to the 2016 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Midwest Region First Team, the association announced on Thursday.
McNew, the 2016 Horizon League Player of the Year, was a frist team pick as a first baseman.
It marks the second straight season a player from CSU has been named to the NFCA all-region team after Cynthia Woodard was a third team choice last season.
McNew put together one of the top offensive seasons in school history this year, posting a CSU single season record .474 batting average and tying the single season school record with 51 runs batted in.
