CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior third baseman Nena Doran has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the week of March 3-8.
It is the third time that Doran has earned the honor this year out of five weeks.
Doran led the Vikings to a 3-1 mark in Canton, Ga., over the weekend, hitting .500 with a 1.357 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage. She tallied seven hits with five runs, four homers and five RBI.
She belted a CSU single-game record three home runs in a win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday.
Through 15 games this season, Doran is batting .481 with 17 runs, four doubles, a team-leading seven home runs and 12 RBI. She has multiple hits in eight games.
CSU returns to action with five games this week, starting with a 3:00 p.m. contest at Louisiana Tech on Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings will also play a doubleheader at Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday with a single game at Southern Mississippi on Thursday and one game at Southern on Saturday.
