McNew's 7 RBI Power CSU Past FAMU, 12-2

CLERMONT, Fla. - Erica McNew went 4-for-4 and drove in seven runs and Alex Radjen fired a complete game as Cleveland State defeated Florida A&M, 12-2, in five innings on Friday night at the Dot Richardson Invitational.

The Vikings improved to 4-1 with the win.

The Vikings scored four runs in the first inning and three more in the second in racing out to a quick lead.

McNew had two singles, a double and a home run and also scored three runs, while Nena Doran, Emma Nicholas, Cynthia Woodard and Alyson Broschk all had two hits apiece. Broschk also drove in two runs.

Radjen was solid in the circle, firing her third complete game in as many outings this year. She gave up just five hits and struck out six while walking just one.

CSU continues play in the Dot Richardson Invitational with two games on Saturday. The Vikings play UT-Chattanooga at 11:00 am and Missouri at 1:30 pm.
