Doran Named Horizon League Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior third baseman Nena Doran was named the Horizon League Player of the Week after leading the Vikings to a perfect record on opening weekend in the CSU Dome Tournament.

CSU swept its three games in the Dome over the weekend, picking up wins over Toledo and Niagara on Friday and against Canisius on Saturday.

Doran led the Vikings at the plate, batting .667 (8-12) over the three games with a .667 on-base percentage. She tallied four runs, two homers and drove in four in the three games.

In the opener against Toledo, Doran went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI and had a hit and RBI in the victory over Niagara. She saved her best for CSU's final game, going 4-for-5 with a double, home run and two RBI in the win over Canisius.

Doran compiled a 1.250 slugging percentage in the tournament.

The Vikings return to action this weekend, playing five games in Clermont, Fla., in the NTC Tournament from Friday through Sunday (Feb. 13-15).
