McNew, Radjen & Woodard to Play for All Star Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State softball players Erica McNew, Alex Radjen and Cynthia Woodard have been selected to play an exhibition doubleheader against the USA National Team.

The Amateur Softball Association and USA Softball announced the College All Star team that will play the USA National Team in a doubleheader on Tuesday, June 17, at 6:00 p.m. at Marathon Diamonds at the Cube in Findlay, Ohio. Tickets are $10.

McNew, who was a first team All-Horizon League selection for the second straight year, hit .357 with 26 runs, nine doubles, two triples, six home runs and 17 RBI this past spring. She also handled the catching duties for CSU, helping the Viking pitching staff to a 2.92 ERA and three shutouts.

McNew ranks third all-time in CSU history with 24 home runs.

Woodard joined McNew on the all-league first team this year after batting .353 with 26 runs and team-highs in doubles (11), home runs (9) and RBI (25). A second team all-league selection last year, Woodard started all 44 games at shortstop.

Radjen put together an outstanding season in the circle this spring, going 7-3 with a 2.99 ERA in 16 appearances, including 11 starts. She fired five complete games and three shutouts. Radjen struck out 62 batters in 70.1 innings.
