THE FIRST PITCH:
    • The Cleveland State softball team will conclude the regular season with a three-game series at Wright State this weekend.
    •    The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday (May 3) beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a single game at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday (May 4).
    •    The Vikings are 24-15 overall and 8-5 in the Horizon League after sweeping a three-game series at Detroit over the weekend.
    •    CSU has won 14 of 19 games since returning from its Spring Break trip to Florida.
    •    Wright State is 15-30 overall, but is tied for second place in the league with a 10-6 record after taking two out of three games from Valparaiso last weekend.
    •    The Vikings are 43-38 all-time versus the Raiders with the 81 games played the second most against an opponent in school history.
    •    Erica McNew is hitting .500 (24-48) with 16 runs, five doubles, four homers and eight RBI over the last 16 games, helping CSU to a 12-4 record.
    •    McNew has hit six home runs this year and is third in school history with 24 homers, two shy of tying Lia Gordon for second place all-time.
    •    Nena Doran has a team-best seven game hit streak, while Alyson Broschk had her 11-game hit streak snapped at Oakland last Friday (April 25).

WHERE WE STAND:
    • Heading into the final weekend of league play, the Vikings are in fourth place with an 8-5 record and will play three games at Wright State is who tied for second place at 10-6.
    •    Green Bay is at the top of the league standings with a 9-4 record and hosts second place Valparaiso (10-6) this weekend.
    •    Fifth place Youngstown State (8-8) plays three games at last place Detroit (1-13), while sixth place Oakland (4-5) has two games with Detroit and hosts seventh place UIC (6-9) for three games this weekend.
    •     The top six teams in the final standings advance to the league tournament.

AT THE PLATE:
    • The Vikings have four players hitting .340 or better this season, topped by Katelind Phillips who is hitting .385.
    •    Erica McNew is batting .377, ranking fifth in the league, with eight doubles, two homers and has driven in 16 runs.
    •    Cynthia Woodard is batting .352 with 11 doubles, nine home runs and 24 RBI. She is second in the Horizon League in home runs and ninth in batting and RBI.
    •    Alyson Broschk is hitting .340 with nine doubles, four homers and 24 runs batted in, ranking 10th in the league in batting and ninth in RBI.
    •    CSU is the only team in the league with three players in the top-10 of the league in batting.

RADJEN NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
    • Alex Radjen was named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on Monday for her performance last week
    •    Radjen went 2-0 with one start and one relief appearance, over 10 innings last week, helping CSU to a 3-1 mark.
    •     She posted a 0.00 ERA and held batters to a .114 batting average.
    •    It was the fourth time in the last five weeks that a CSU pitcher claimed the award and the sixth time overall this season.
    •    Radjen has won the award three times this season, while Sara Shields has won two awards and Susan Knight has claimed one.

UP NEXT:
    • The Horizon League Championship will be played at the No. 1 seed from Wednesday through Saturday (May 7-10).
    •    The top six teams from the league will qualify for the league tournament.
