Vikings Drop Final Game in Florida, 9-1, to Boston U.

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Cleveland State softball team dropped its final game in Florida, 9-1, to Boston University on Tuesday afternoon.

The loss drops the Vikings to 10-10 this season.

The Terriers jumped on the board with four runs in the first and four more in the second inning to take early control of the game.

Katelind Phillips delivered and RBI single in the fourth to score Cynthia Woodard, but BU added another run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 9-1.

The Vikings were limited to just three hits, two by Phillips, and one from Alyson Broschk.

CSU is back in action on March 22-23 when the Vikings host UIC at Viking Field in a three-game series to open Horizon League play.

The teams will play a doubleheader on March 22 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a single game at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
