CLEVELAND, Ohio-  The Cleveland State softball team earned two wins to begin the 2014 season on Saturday morning at the second annual CSU Dome Tournament.

The Vikings defeated Bucknell in a pitcher's dual, 1-0 in game one, and in game two posted a 5-3 victory over Bowling Green.  The Vikings had eight hits against BGSU's pitchers.

The Vikings (2-0) had two great pitching outings from sophomore Susan Knight and junior Alex Radjen. Knight went seven strong innings for CSU giving up no earned runs, four stikeouts, and only giving up three hits in the game.  In game two Radjen went five an one-third innings.  She struck out three batters an walked only two hitters in the contest.  Senior Sara Shields closed the door with her first save of the season.

Offensively, Knight hit a three run homerun against Bowling Green to seal the 5-3 win.  Another key contributor was junior Cynthia Woodard who laced a two bagger in the gap.

The Vikings will be back on the diamond tomorrow on the final of the CSU Dome Tourney against Canisius and will then finish out against Robert Morris.  First pitch will be at 3:00 p.m. and then 5:00 p.m.
