CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Vikings held the lead for much of the game but five runs in the last two innings helped Wright State come from behind and win 6-2 in CSU's first home league game of the season.

The Vikings slip to 8-28 overall and 1-6 in the Horizon League while the Raiders are now 15-18 and 5-2 in league play.

Cleveland State struck for a pair of runs in the home half of the first to build a 2-0 lead. Dara Toman walked to start the game and moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt by pitcher Megan Bashak. Andrea Nagy singled up the middle to bring in Toman for the first run of the game.

After a Sara Shields single and sacrifice by Caila FerroNena Doran singled home Nagy.

The Raiders got one back in the top of the third when they had two singles and used a CSU error to manufacture a run and cut the deficit to 2-1.

WSU starting pitcher Krystian DeWitt was in the zone, setting down 11 Vikings in a row after surrendering the two runs in the first. She kept her team in the game long enough for them to tack on three hits on four hits in the sixth and take a 4-2 lead into the seventh.

Two more runs in the seventh - although only one was earned - were charged to Bashak after she faced two batters in that inning. Shields came in to relieve Bashak and got the final three outs but the Vikings managed just a single from Salena Kauffman in the home portion of the seventh before DeWitt recorded the 21st out in what was her 19th complete game of the season.

Bashak took the loss to fall to 2-12. She allowed six runs - five earned - in her six innings of work. The Raiders had 11 hits but Bashak didn't walk a batter while recording four strikeouts.

DeWitt settled down after the first inning and jumped to 11-16 with the win. She allowed seven hits and one walk while striking out a pair.

The series concludes with a doubleheader on Saturday (April 7) and action will get started at 12:00 p.m. Following the second game, an Easter egg hunt will be held on Viking Field.
