The Vikings, who dropped to 2-2-1 on the season, had three shots and five corner kicks in the opening period, but were unable to get one past UTSA keeper Sophie Milich.

UTSA, which raised its record to 3-1 on the year, jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 31:49 to play in the opening period when Ellis Patterson converted a pass from Isa Hernandez into the first goal of the match.

The Roadrunners pushed the lead to 2-0 with 18:09 to play in the opening period when Hernandez found the back of the net.

UTSA scored the final goal of the match at the 31:30 mark of the second period off the foot of Lexi Bolton.
