SETTING THE STAGE: The Cleveland State women's soccer team will conclude a two-game road swing when it faces Miami (Ohio) on Sunday (Sept. 1) at 1 p.m. on the Miami Soccer Field.

JOINING THE MAC: This will mark the fourth consecutive matche against member institutions from the Mid-American Conference...Cleveland State has a 13-34-4 all-time record against MAC opponents...The four consecutive matches versus MAC schools is the first such occurance in program history.

VERSUS MIAMI: This will mark the second all-time meeting between Cleveland State and Miami (Ohio) with the RedHawks having won the only previous meeting between the two teams...Miami defeated Cleveland State 4-0 during the 2009 season in Oxford.

YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN: Cleveland State head coach Dallas Boyer will be coaching against his alma mater for the first time as the manager of the Vikings...Boyer graduated from Miami in 2004 with a degree in dolescent integrated social studies.

LAST TIME OUT: Cleveland State suffered its first setback of the 2019 season on Friday when it lost to Ohio 2-1 in double overtime...Alivia Milesky scored at the 109:20 mark of the second overtime to lift the Bobcats to the victory...After falling behind 1-0, Cleveland State rallied to tie the match at 1-1 when Elena Gutlove netted her second goal of the season at the 53:53 mark of the second period...The Vikings maintained offensive pressure on Ohio in the second period and received quality opportunities from Essence Canady and McKenna Donahue...Stevie Holbrook made five saves in goal for Cleveland State...Meredith Hansen recorded two shots coming off the Vikings bench.

HORIZON WEEKLY HONOR: Cleveland State goalie Stevie Holbrook was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday...The junior posted a 0.41 goals against average and had a .944 save percentage in the Vikings opening two matches...She had a career-high 11 saves in Cleveland State's 0-0 draw at Kent State...This marks the second time in her career that she has been named the HL Defensive Player of the Week.

IN THE PRESEASON: Cleveland State played a pair of exhibition matches in the run up to the season opener...The Vikings tied Buffalo 1-1 at Buffalo on Aug. 12...Cleveland State dropped a 2-0 decision to Duquesne at Krenzler Field on Aug. 16...Freshman McKenna Donahue scored the Vikings goal against Buffalo.

HORIZON LEAGUE POLL: Cleveland State was selected to finish third in the Horizon League Preseason Poll as selected by the league head coaches...The Vikings received two first-place votes and finished with 73 points...Defending Horizon League champion Milwaukee was tabbed as the league favorite, while Northern Kentucky was chosen to finish second in the poll.

ABOUT CLEVELAND STATE: The Vikings, who finished last year with an 11-7-1 overall record and a 6-2-1 Horizon League mark, return 17 letterwinners from last season and six starters...Cleveland State, which set school records for overall wins and Horizon League wins, advanced to the Horizon League Tournament title match for the first time in school history last year.

ABOUT MIAMI (OHIO): Miami enters the contest with an 0-2-0 record having dropped matches to Dayton and Wright State...The RedHawks fell to Dayton 5-1 to open the season and lost to Wright State 1-0 on Aug. 25...Keara Kerr has scored the RedHawks lone goal of the season...Miami defeated Valparaiso 1-0 and topped Eastern Kentucky 4-0 in exhibition play.
