Women’s Soccer Falls At Milwaukee In Regular Season Finale

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Cleveland State women's soccer team wrapped up regular season action Friday evening, dropping a 3-0 contest at Horizon League Regular Season Champion, Milwaukee.

With the loss, the Vikings currently stand at 10-6-1 overall this season, and finish regular season #HLWSOC play with a 6-2-1 mark.

Cleveland State's six wins during league play marks a program record, while the Vikings earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament with their 6-2-1 record. As the second-seeded team in the tournament, Cleveland State earns a bye into the semifinals, which will mark the first time in program history that the Vikings will be playing in the semifinals of the #HLWSOC tournament.

Against the Panthers, Cleveland State had the majority of its usual starting lineup sitting out, as the Vikings dropped just their second contest over the last nine matches.

Ja'Maya Ward finished with a pair of shots on the match after coming in off the bench, while Daniella Delfino and Meredith Hansen each notched a shot against Milwaukee.

Kendra Clarke got the start in goal for the Vikings, playing all 90 minutes and recording four saves. This marked just the fourth appearance for Clarke this season, and the first in league play.

Cleveland State will begin its quest for the program's first Horizon League Title on Thursday, November 1, playing in a semifinal contest at 5:00 p.m. EST. This year's #HLWSOC tournament will be hosted by Milwaukee.
