Week #11

THE OPENING KICK:
• Cleveland State will play its final regular season match of the 2018 campaign this week, traveling to Regular Season Champion Milwaukee for an 8:00 p.m. EST contest on Friday, October 26.
• The Vikings enter the final week of regular season play with a 10-5-1 overall record, including a 6-1-1 mark in #HLWSOC play.

HORIZON LEAGUE PLAY:
• Under head coach Dallas Boyer the Vikings own an 11-5-1 record in regular season Horizon League matches
• Last week, the Vikings remained in sole possession of second place in the league standings, and guaranteed themselves a bye into the semifinals of next week's Horizon League Tournament. 

BEST #HLWSOC SEASON IN PROGRAM HISTORY:
• Entering this week's matchup against Milwaukee, the Vikings own a program-best 6-1-1 mark in #HLWSOC matches, with the six wins marking the most league victories in program history.
• Cleveland State is one of just two remaining #HLWSOC teams with one loss or less in league action.

LAST WEEK:
• Cleveland State split its contests against Detroit Mercy and Wright State, dropping a 1-0 contest against the Titans in a midweek matchup, before picking up a 1-0 victory over the Raiders in the final match at Krenzler Field during the 2018 season.
• With the win against Wright State, the Vikings finished the year with an 8-1 record at Krenzler Field, setting a program record for home wins in a single season.

CLEVELAND STATE VS. MILWAUKEE:
• Friday's match against Milwaukee will be the 19th meeting all-time between the two teams, with the Panthers owning a 17-0-1 overall record.
• Cleveland State's lone decision against the Panthers came during the 2014 season, when the Vikings earned a 1-1 double overtime draw.

FREE KICKS:
• Head coach Dallas Boyer, in his second season in the top spot, has been on the coaching staff for 12 of the 15 seasons in program history.
• With an overall record of 10-5-1, the Vikings have tied the program record for wins in a season which was set during the 2011 campaign, and would set a new record with a victory at Milwaukee.
• As a team, the Vikings enter the week ranked second among league teams with 28 total goals this season, while they also rank second averaging 1.75 goals per game.
• Cleveland State's 28 goals ties the proram record for single-season goals, and marks just the fourth time in program history that the Vikings have tallied 25+ goals in a season.
• On the defensive side of the ball, Cleveland State's backline has given up the fewest goals in league play, allowing just four goals through the first eight regular season matches.
Stevie Holbrook enters the weekend with 54 total saves on the year, and ranks third in the Horizon League with a .818 save percentage.
• Against the Raiders, senior Dani Sowinski added to her single-season assist total, notching a program-best ninth assist of the year. Sowinski, who is at the top of the record book for single-season helpers, ranks second in the Career Record Book with 14 assists.
• Among league players, Sowinski is tied at the top of the standings with her nine assists this season.
• Entering the final week of regular season play, McKenna Vento continues to lead the league with six total goals this year, while Sarah Krause is now tied for fourth in the standings after posting her fifth goal of the season in the 1-0 victory over Wright State.
• Vento's six goals this season is tied for fifth in the Single-Season Record Book, while she is also tied for fifth in the Career Record Book with 12 total goals.
• Krause's game-winning goal against the Raiders moved her into second place among league players with a team-high 16 total points this year, as she has tallied five goals and six assists.
