Women’s Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the 10th straight year the Cleveland State women's soccer team has been honored by the United Soccer Coaches Association, as the Vikings were tabbed a 2017-18 Team Academic Award honoree.

The Vikings, who have now earned Team Academic Award accolades 11 times in program history, carried a 3.62 team GPA during the 2017-18 academic year.

Throughout the 2017-18 academic year, 24 student-athletes were named to the Cleveland State Dean's List, including 14 that earned the accolade during both the fall and spring semesters. In addition, Toni Dickson was named Academic All-League, while Dickson and McKenna Vento were named Academic All-Ohio.

Cleveland State was one of seven Horizon League teams to earn the academic honor, and one of 489 total women's soccer teams.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
