THE OPENING KICK:
• Cleveland State will split its time on the road and at home this week, traveling to Youngstown State for a midweek matchup at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, before returning home to host UIC at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29.
• The Vikings enter this week's contests with a 5-4-1 record on the year, including a 1-0-1 mark in #HLWSOC play.
• Saturday's match against UIC will be the first contest of a Cleveland State Soccer doubleheader, as the men's team will also take on the Flames following the women's contest.

HORIZON LEAGUE PLAY:
• Under head coach Dallas Boyer the Vikings own a 6-4-1 record in regular season Horizon League matches.
• Last weekend, the Vikings earned a 1-1 draw at Oakland, remaining undefeated in #HLWSOC play through two matches for the second time in program history (3-0 start in 2015).
• After two weeks of league action, the Vikings sit fourth in the league standings, just two points out of first place.

LAST WEEK:
• Cleveland State played its first road match in #HLWSOC play last weekend, earning a 1-1 double overtime draw at  Oakland. 
• After falling behind midway through the first half, freshman Ja'Maya Ward was able to find the equalizer in the 71st minute on a Sarah Krause pass.

CLEVELAND STATE VS. YOUNGSTOWN STATE:
• Wednesday's match at Youngstown State will be the 16th meeting all-time between the two teams, with Cleveland State owning a 9-5-1 overall record.
• Entering's Wednesday's contest the Vikings have won three straight against the Penguins, including a 5-1 victory last season.

CLEVELAND STATE VS. UIC:
• Saturday's contest against UIC will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two teams, with the Flames owning a 3-1 overall record.
• Cleveland State's lone victory over UIC came during the 2014 campaign, when the Vikings picked up a 1-0 win in double overtime on a Katie Bainbridge goal.

FREE KICKS:
• Head coach Dallas Boyer, in his second season in the top spot, has been on the coaching staff for 12 of the 15 seasons in program history.
• As a team, the Vikings enter the week ranked second among league teams with 17 total goals this season, while they also rank second averaging 1.70 goals per game.
• Individually, McKenna Vento is tied for first in the league standings with four total goals this year, while she is also tied for seventh in the CSU Career Record Book with 10 career goals.
Dani Sowinski continues to sit second among league players with six total assists on the year, while she is tied for second in the CSU Career Record Book with 11 career helpers.
Sarah Krause has been a great addition to the Viking lineup, as she leads the team with 10 total points through 10 matches so far this season. Krause's latest point came against Oakland last time out, as she recorded an assist on Cleveland State's lone goal.
Stevie Holbrook recorded three saves in last weekend's match at Oakland, and has 39 total saves this season. Her 39 saves ranks her fifth among league players.

• The Vikings will continue a three-match homestand next Saturday (October 6), hosting Green Bay in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
