Vento Named #HLWSOC Offensive Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over IUPUI in last week's #HLWSOC opener, senior McKenna Vento has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week.

This marks the first weekly honor for Vento, while she is the third Viking to earn #HLWSOC weekly accolades under head coach Dallas Boyer's direction.

Against the defending champion Jaguars, Vento scored two of Cleveland State's three goals, marking the 23rd time in program history that a Viking has scored two or more goals in the same contest.

Vento's first goal came just two minutes into the match, while she also scored the eventual game-winner midway through the first half.

For the season, Vento leads the league with four total goals, while she is also tied for seventh in the CSU Career Record Book with 10 goals on her career.

Vento and the Vikings will continue #HLWSOC play on the road this weekend, traveling to Oakland for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, September 22.
