Vikings Fall At Niagara, 2-0

NIAGARA, N.Y. – The Cleveland State women's soccer team hit the road for the first time during the 2018 campaign Thursday evening, dropping a 2-0 contest at Niagara. With the loss, the Vikings fall to 2-1 on the season.

Niagara posted its first goal late in the first half, and then gained the 2-0 advantage just 10 minutes into the second period. Despite Niagara outshooting Cleveland State 14-8, the two teams were even with three shots on goal each, while the Vikings held the advantage in corner kicks, 8-2.

Two of Cleveland State's shots on goal came from McKenna Vento, while Aubrey Bechter posted the third shot on goal.

During the final seven minutes of the contest Cleveland State tried to even the score, notching four of their eight shots during this span, including Bechter's shot on goal.

Stevie Holbrook played all 90 minutes in goal for the Vikings, picking up the loss to fall to 2-1 on the season.

The Vikings will return to the friendly confines of Krenzler Field – where they own a perfect 2-0 record so far this season – on Sunday (August 26), hosting Kent State at 1:00 p.m.
