Vento & Dickson Named to Women's NCAA Division I Academic All-Ohio Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - A pair of Cleveland State women's soccer players were named to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) NCAA Division I Women's Socer Academic All-Ohio team as announced on Tuesday.

Junior McKenna Vento was a first team selection, while junior Toni Dickson was named to the second team.

Today marked the second straight day that Vento earned an award from the OSCA after being named to the All-Ohio second team yesterday. A health sciences major with a 3.82 grade point average, Vento posted 13 points on four goals and five assists this year, tying for the team-lead with two game-winning goals. She will enter her senioro season ranked 11th in school history with 22 career points, while her 10 career assists are fourth all-time.

Dickson earned a spot on the second team after carrying a 3.95 GPA as a pre-med major. Dickson, who was also named to the Horizon League Women's Soccer All-Academic team this year, has been a mainstay on the backline during her career, appearing in 51 matches with 47 starts and helping the Vikings to 12 shutouts. In addition, she has amassed 11 career points on five goals and one assist. A team captain, Dickson scored two goals this year.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Dallas Boyer, the Vikings finished the 2017 season with a 9-9-1 overall record, including a 5-4 record in the Horizon League to earn a berth in the League tournament for the first time since 2015. The nine wins are tied for the second most in program history, while the five League wins are tied for the most in a season in CSU history.
