Lorenzo & Vento Named to All-Ohio Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State junior McKenna Vento and sophomore Aliani Lorenzo were both named to the 2017 Women's NCAA Division I All-Ohio Team that was announced on Monday morning.

The duo are both making their first appearance on the All-Ohio team after each earned second team All-Horizon League honors this year.

Vento posted 13 points on four goals and five assists this year, tying for the team-lead with two game-winning goals. She will enter her senioro season ranked 11th in school history with 22 career points, while her 10 career assists are fourth all-time.

Lorenzo totaled nine points this year on four goals and one assist. She played in just six matches as a freshman last year before her season was cut short due to injury, rebounding to earn all-league and All-Ohio honors this year. For her career, Lorenzo has amassed 16 points on seven goals and two assists. She scored CSU's goal in a 1-1 draw with IUPUI in the League tournament, scoring off an assist from Vento.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Dallas Boyer, the Vikings finished the 2017 season with a 9-9-1 overall record, including a 5-4 record in the Horizon League to earn a berth in the League tournament for the first time since 2015. The nine wins are tied for the second most in program history, while the five League wins are tied for the most in a season in CSU history.
