Vento, Lorenzo, Prathapa, Grant Earn All-League Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's soccer team had four players earn All-Horizon League honors as the League announced the teams this afternoon.

The teams were voted on by the League's 10 head coaches.

Junior McKenna Vento and sophomore Aliani Lorenzo were both named to the All-Horizon League second team, while freshmen Jenna Prathapa and Grace Grant were selected to the Horizon League All-Freshman team.

In addition, Prathapa was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to earn the award.

Vento is making her first career appearance on the all-league team after posting 12 points on four goals and four assists. Vento, who tied for the team-lead with two game-winning goals, ranks 11th in school history with 21 career points, while her nine career assists are fourth all-time.

Lorenzo is also making her first appearance on the all-league team after totaling seven points on three goals and one assist. Lorenzo played in just six matches as a freshman before her season was cut short by injury, rebounding to earn all-league accolades this year.

Prathapa was voted the Horizon League Freshman of the Year after tying for fourth in the League with six goals and ranking eighth with 15 points. Her six goals are tied for fourth most in a season in CSU history, while her 15 points are tied for fifth.

Grant joins Prathapa on the all-freshman team after tallying 10 points on four goals and two assists. She tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals, including one with just over three minutes left in a 3-2 win at Green Bay.

The Vikings will open play in the Horizon League Championship tonight with a first round game at IUPUI at 7:00 pm. The winner will advance to the semifinals on Thursday in Milwaukee.
