Vikings Drop Regular Season Finale to Milwaukee, 2-0, HL Tournament Up Next

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Milwaukee scored a goal in each half to claim a 2-0 victory over Cleveland State in the regular season finale for both teams on Friday night at Krenzler Field.

CSU fell to 9-9 overall and 5-4 in the Horizon League, while the Panthers improved to 15-0-3 overall - remaining the lone undefeated team in the country. Milwaukee also clinched the Horizon League regular season title, moving to 7-0-2 in the League and will host the semfinals and championship matches of the League tournament on Thursday and Saturday.

CSU's two seniors - Katie Bainbridge and Jamie Daniels - were honored in a pre-match ceremony as the duo was playing at home for the final time in their careers. Head coach Dallas Boyer subbed the two seniors out for the final time at Krenzler Field with just under five minutes to play

Milwaukee's Cassidy Blanchard scored both goals tonight off corner kicks from Jen Eberhardy. The first half goal came in the 11th minute, while the second half goal came 1:46 into the half.

The Vikings will be back in action on Monday (Oct. 30) for a first round Horizon League tournament match. CSU, which will be making its first appearance in the League tournament since 2015, will officially learn its opponent when the League announces the bracket.
