Vikings Drop 2-0 Contest at UIC

CHICAGO, Ill. - Cleveland State outshot UIC, but the Flames used a pair of second half goals to claim a 2-0 win and snap the Vikings' two match win streak on Saturday night at Flames Field.

CSU fell to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the Horizon League, while UIC improved to 3-10 overall and 1-3 in the League.

After a scoreless first half, the Flames got on the board at the 52:27 mark when Rebeca Pallo netted her first goal of the year. UIC extended the lead 11 minutes later when Madison Pollard scored.

The Vikings held a 16-14 advantage in shots, but UIC took six shots on goal to four for the Vikings. CSU also had a 5-2 lead in corner kicks, but the Vikings were whistled for 15 fouls to just five for the Flames.

CSU is back in action next Saturday (Oct. 7) for a 2:00 pm ET match at Green Bay.
