Vikings Fall to Binghamton in Home Opener, 2-1

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's soccer team dropped its home opener, 2-1, to Binghamton on Friday afternoon at Krenzler Field.

The Vikings fell to 1-2 this year, while Binghamton improved to 3-0.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Jenna Prathapa put the Vikings on the board at the 18:38 mark with her third goal in as many games.
Katie Bainbridge, who had just entered the match as a substitute, played a ball over the top of the Bearcat defense and Prathapa was able to run under it and chip a shot over the Binghamton goalkeeper.
• It stayed that way until the 31:56 mark when Binghamton's Kayla Saager's shot from the left side of the box found the far post to even the match at 1-1.
• Binghamton scored the game-winner off a set piece from a free kick with just under seven minutes to play. Carly Bennett played the free kick into the box from the left sideline and Ryan Reilly netted her second goal of the season, knocking in a loose ball just in front of the goal.

•  Jamie Daniels made six saves in goal for CSU.
