Boyer Announces 2017 CSU Women's Soccer Schedule

2017 SCHEDULE

CLEVELAND, Ohio - First-year Cleveland State head women's soccer coach Dallas Boyer has announced the 2017 schedule which features eight home matches and the eight match Horizon League slate.

The Vikings will play a pair of exhibition matches leading into the season, traveling to Buffalo on Aug. 9 and hosting Duqusne three days later at Krenzler Field.

The regular season opener is scheduled for Aug. 18 with the Vikings hosting Canisius and CSU will travel to Kent State two days later for the first road contest of the year. Following a home match with Binghamton on Aug. 25, the Vikings hit the road for three straight matches, playing at Ohio (Aug. 27), at Akron (Aug. 31) and at Butler (Sept. 3).

The Vikings return home to host Toledo on Sept. 8 and Niagara on Sept. 10 before the non-league finale at Valparaiso on Sept. 15.

CSU begins the Horizon League schedule with a home match versus Oakland on Sept. 23 and will also host Youngstown State (Oct. 4), Detroit Mercy (Oct. 14) and Milwaukee (Oct. 27) for League matches.

The Vikings will play Horizon League road contests at UIC (Sept. 30), Green Bay (Oct. 7), Wright Atate (Oct. 18) and Northern Kentucky (Oct. 21) this season.

The Horizon League Championship will begin on Oct. 30 with a pair of first round games with the semifinals (Nov. 2) and championship (Nov. 4) matches being played at the site of the No. 1 seed.

Boyer will welcome back 14 letterwinners from last year's squad who will be joined by two transfers and nine incoming freshman to the program.
