Late Goal The Difference in CSU's 1-0 Setback at Detroit

DETROIT, Mich. - A late goal by Detroit proved to be the difference as the Cleveland State women's soccer team fell to the Titans, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.

CSU fell to 4-10 overall and 1-5 in the Horizon League, while Detroit improved to 8-6-1 and 4-1-1 in the League.

The game-winning goal came at the 80:12 mark when Phylisha Drayton headed in a corner kick from Rachel DeLuca.

The Vikings return to action for two matches next week, traveling to Youngstown State for a 7:00 pm contest on Wednesday (Oct. 19) and hosting Green Bay on Saturday (Oct. 22) at 1:00 pm in the final home game of the season.

CSU's six seniors - Megan Barrick, Sarah Kaiser, Marissa Sarsfield, Haleigh Shingary, Kaila Sargema and Jane Piontowski will be honored in a pre-match ceremony prior to the Green Bay contest.
