CLEVELAND, Ohio - Allie Sieradzki scored an early goal and Vickie Havas tallied a late goal to lead the Cleveland State women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Green Bay in Horizon League action on Saturday afternoon at Krenzler Field.

The Vikings improved to 7-6-2 overall and 2-2-1 in league play, while the Phoenix slipped to 8-4-2 overall and 2-2 in the Horizon League.

CSU, which has played overtime contests in each of their first four league matches this year, posted its sixth shutout of the season, the second most in a season in program history. The 2010 squad had seven shutouts.

Sieradzki put the Vikings on the board just 8:29 into today's contest when she headed in a corner kick from Katie Bainbridge.

It stayed that way until Havas netted her fourth goal of the season, and 15th of her career, with just over two minutes to play, sealing the win.

Havas took a throw in just outside the box from Kelcey Fischer, spun with the ball, took a dribble and unloaded a shot from 18 yards out to the far post.

It was redemption for Havas, who earlier in the half had a shot from the left wing miss to the far post by mere inches.

Sarah Wood made three saves for the Vikings to earn the shutout as CSU's backline of Fischer, Sabrina Abram, Marissa Sarsfield and Erin O'Toole all once again played the entire match, helping the squad to another shutout win.

The Vikings finished with a 9-7 advantage in shots on a windy afternoon, while each team took three corner kicks.

CSU is back in action next Saturday (Oct. 18) when the Vikings host UIC at 4:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field in the regular season home finale.
