CLEVELAND, Ohio - Playing its second straight overtime game and the third in the last four contests, the Cleveland State women's soccer team fell to Valparaiso, 1-0, on Saturday night at Krenzler Field.

The loss drops CSU to 5-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the Horizon League, while Valparaiso improved to 5-1-4 overall and 2-0 in the league. The Crusaders extended their unbeaten streak to nine straight games.

After the two teams played 90 scoreless minutes, the Crusaders scored the Golden Goal just 2:52 into the extra session. April Cronin got control of the ball around midfield, took a few dribbles and played a through ball toward the box where Robin Wenzel beat CSU goalkeeper Sarah Wood to the ball and put away her second goal of the season to the far post.

Valpo held a 13-9 advantage in shots, including a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. Wood finished with six saves for the Vikings, while Sydney Galvez-Daley posted four saves to earn the shutout.
