CSU Drops 2-0 Match at Loyola Marymount

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Cleveland State women's soccer team concluded its trip out west with a 2-0 setback at Loyola Marymount on Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Field.

CSU fell to 0-2 this season, while LMU improved to 2-0.

LMU got on the scoreboard 17 minutes in when Callie Taylor scored off a cross from Brianne Medved. It stayed that way until the 59:06 mark when Shannon Kent scored a one-timer off a pass from Cassidy Nicks.

Sarah Wood made five saves in goal for the Vikings, while Chloe Fadenholz and Elise Sailors recorded shots for CSU.

The Vikings return to action on Friday (Aug. 29) when CSU hosts Western Michigan at 7:00 p.m. in the home opener at Krenzler Field. It will be a doubleheader with the CSU men's squad opening the 2014 season with a 3:30 p.m. match vs. Salem International.
