Vikings Play to 0-0 Draw in Exhibition With Buffalo

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's soccer team opened the exhibition season with a 0-0 draw with Buffalo on Tuesday afternoon at Krenzler Field.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Sonia Curvelo, the Vikings hit the pitch for the first time since opening preseason training last week.

"I thought today was a good match for us to see where we are at as a team," Curvelo said. "I felt defensively we did well in connecting and the midfield did well communicating and not allow a lot of space. We can still get better in training and improve each day."

Buffalo held a 6-4 advantage in shots with CSU's best attempt coming in the 30th minute when Allie Sieradzki's shot was saved by the Bulls goalkeeper off the post.

The Vikings will play their second and final exhibition match of the preseason on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Francis (Pa.).
